This set of work was considered the most impressive set nationally for AQA standards. It was clearly seen as exceptional and well within the grade boundary for an A*. The academic rigour and the sophistication of research behind the investigation made quite a stir with the examiners.

This textiles set was awarded a grade B, a few marks shy of the grade boundary for an A.  The examiners commented on the exquisite layering of fabrics and manipulation throughout. AQA felt that the project lost momentum in A04. The final development of ideas was seen as consistent, as opposed to the highly developed textiles manipulation earlier on in the project. This highlights the importance of addressing all the assessment objectives. If A04 had been considered at the same level as the other AO's then this student would have achieved an A.
