A Level chemistry builds on knowledge gained at GCSE but goes much further revealing the understanding behind the concepts. It explores the physical nature of chemical interactions and how energy change drives all processes. The importance of organic compounds and materials made from them is covered, looking at how they are made and react. There are some overlaps with biology and physics and many topics are underpinned by applying mathematics skills.
The AQA course (7405) is followed and is a linear course examined at the end of two years study
