Dear Parents,
I am writing to invite you and your child to our Sixth Form
Information Evening on Monday 9th October 2023, beginning at 7.00pm in the PAC.
This vital evening will initially involve presentations
about curriculum options, the pastoral system, wider opportunities and the
extensive extra-curricular activities available at Gateways. I will also
highlight how your child can apply for a place in our Sixth Form and indeed how they can apply for a Sixth Form Scholarship.
If you would like to view The Old Vicarage and the newly opened Lodge, you are invited
to attend from 6.15pm, arriving via the wooden gate which leads from the car park
through to the garden of the Sixth Form Centre.
Once you have viewed The Old Vicarage, you will be escorted to view The Lodge and then you will be taken to the PAC for the formal part of the event beginning at 7pm.
The main part of the evening will then take place in the
Cox-Simpson library and is designed to give you as much information about the
wide range of subjects on offer at A level, CTech, and beyond, in our highly
successful Sixth Form.
You will have the opportunity to discuss the details of
specific subjects with the appropriate member of staff in the library. Mrs
Sharrock, our careers adviser, will also be present for consultations.
Current Sixth Formers will also be available to give their
views on life in our Sixth Form.
